Breakfast like a rockstar

Breakfast like a Rockstar is a great excuse to be a rebel with a cause. Get out the denim, glitter or bling and rock it up for breast cancer research.

Remit your payment before 15 November 2011, for a chance to win some fantastic prizes relating to your chosen breakfast theme.*

Here are some ideas to help your event go off.

Crank up the music and make your breakfast rock:

  • Glitter up your home or workplace and encourage your friends to bring some bling
  • Get your friends to dress up like real rockers – spiked hairdos, leather wristbands faded and ripped denim – the works!
  • Alternatively ask guests to dress up in their favourite music era – new romantics, punk, 70s, wrappers – you get the idea!
  • When your guests arrive, give them an "entry pass" lanyard
  • If you've got a burly bloke to hand – put them on door duty!
  • Photocopy old record covers and use them as place mats
  • Use old CDs as drinks coasters
  • Decorate your room with rockstar posters, streamers and balloons
  • Place big glass bowls of fruit around
  • Record your event with an instamatic camera or place disposable cameras around the room for guests to use

Shake, Rattle 'n' Roll Menu – for a rockstar breakfast late in the day:

  • Virgin Mary (a bit like a Bloody Mary without the vodka)
  • Selection of energy packed fruit mocktails
  • Bacon and egg pies served with chilli tomato relish
  • Cinnamon doughnuts
  • Short black coffee

The benefits of being a rockstar – turn up the volume on your fundraising:

  • Organise a Kitchen Karaoke - donate to sing a song (or donate to stop someone singing!)
  • Have a CD/Record swap or auction off rarer items
  • Find a new star and host a Sing Star competition
  • Collect donations to join your Wii dance routines
  • If you've got some budding rockstars in your family or workplace, ask them to perform and sell tickets
